Additionally, a Meta representative sent a statement to Variety saying that "Earlier today, a technical issue prevented some users from accessing Instagram. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we swiftly fixed the problem for everyone who was impacted.

 

Prior to this: On May 21, people from all around the world complained on other social media sites that they were unable to access Instagram or log in.

In a blog post announcing the launch of Meta Verified, chairman and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, "Good morning and new product announcement: This week, we're launching Meta Verified, a paid subscription service that gives you direct access to customer support, the ability to acquire a blue badge, and further impersonation protection against accounts that pretend to be you." This new functionality aims to improve security and authenticity across all of our services. On the web or on iOS, Meta Verified begins at $11.99 a month. We'll begin rolling out in Australia and New Zealand this week, and then soon in additional countries.
